Mrs.Dalloway
"Mrs Dalloway said she'd buy the flowers herself." This is the most popular opening line in literature, Virgina Woolf's masterpiece of time, memory, and the City of London.
After World War I and the 1918 flu pandemic, Clarissa Dalloway, a graceful and vivacious woman, is preparing a party and remembering loved ones. In another part of London, Septimus Smith is in deep shock and at home is insane. Their days intertwine and their lives intersect during a party that reaches its zenith.
In this novel, Woolf perfects the narrative flow technique of consciousness. He is also good at recording and combining past, present and future, impression after impression, minute by minute, the nuances of life itself.
